Lens materials have changed dramatically over the years and generally provide lighter, thinner lenses that conventional plastic, regardless of your prescription strength. For the two lens materials that we offer at APPOLO OPTICIAN, both have the added advantage of absorbing harmful ultra violet light.
Polycarbonate lenses are lighter and thinner than conventional plastic and also more impact-resistant.
High Index lenses bend light differently so that stronger prescriptions can be made thinner.
- Always put on or take off your glasses with both hands. This will preserve their life-span and ensure they stay well-fitting.
- Do not place your spectacles with the lenses facing down on the table top or other surfaces. This will help keep the lenses scratch-free.
- When not using them, store your spectacles in their protective case. Do not put your spectacles in your pocket – they may fall out or get bent out of shape.
- Wash spectacles daily in water. Dry them with soft cotton or cleaning cloth. Never use paper products to wipe as they may scratch the lenses. Wash or below off dust or grit.
- Have your spectacles adjusted once or twice per year. Our opticians are likely adjusting your glasses free of charge.
- Sometimes the screws that hold the arms on can come loose, which prevents the arm from gripping the sides of your head as well. You can get a tiny screwdriver and tighten them yourself, or visit us and have them done it for you our optical technicians will examine them for wear and tear, tighten any loose screws. Check the fit again, just as if it were the day you bought them and make them just like new.
